Derek has spoken of what he plans to do in life after Big Brother.
Of his 'to do' list, Derek told Kinga: "I'm going to finish a big book that I'm writing with a friend who's a journalist."
He went on to reveal how he had been approached by a newspaper before he entered the house and believes himself to be wanted for some contract writing.
"I want to get involved in a human rights charity called 'Liberty'," he continued. "I want to get involved more in politics again and things like that. I had a lot going on before I came in but I think I'll have more going on, not because of this [Big Brother] necessarily, but more because this experience has helped me to decide which route I'm going to pursue.
"The thing about life is that you have highs and lows and everything changed. I've had some fabulous opportunities, great jobs, met some exceptional people and the future's not ours to see, que sera sera, what will be will be."
