Home and Away's Gina Palmer will be left fighting for her life after she falls unconscious behind the wheel of her car.
Gina, played by Sonia Todd, will be happily enjoying a family day out with John and Jett when the tragedy strikes.
"Gina's eyesight starts to blur and she questions what she's seeing in front of her", Todd told TV Week.
"It's a scary moment for John and Jett. They don't know what is happening and Gina also doesn't know what is happening to her own body.
"It all happens so quickly. One moment she is driving and the next she passes out and collapses in the car."
Gina's collapse will be a devastating blow to the family who only days before will receive news that Jett's adoption has been approved.
Todd said: "Jett's arrival in their life came at the right time. He was a much-needed light when their relationship was on the rocks.
"They found common ground in their desire to love and nurture Jett and now their relationship is on the right path."
However, John will do everything he can to get help for Gina after the frightening collapse.
"John can't think of anything else besides getting help to Gina straight away," Todd explained.
"He has no time to go through any thoughts - his adrenaline is pumping and he can't even comprehend that this shock collapse may result in losing the woman he loves."
